I recently conducted a lecture series entitled, "Moving Forward" the premise was to recognize the cause(s) of leading a non-productive life. Do you ever become intensely frustrated when you know that your life has purpose, but for some unknown reason you just can't seem to place your finger on it? You pray, read, meditate and even with these sure-fire methods of getting the ball rolling. And after you have done all that you know to do you still seem to just mark time. Somethings missing, maybe it's the technique or maybe, it's just that "things were meant to be this way. So, inevitably you surrender and give up, concluding, "it is what it is."
Wrong. It is time to escape the tunnels of mediocrity, fear and despair. The greatest threat to being all you could be is not being satisfied with who you are. Listen, You have buried your talents, gifts and abilities in the cemetery of your last accomplishment. It's time for you to perform a reality check. Start by saying theses words, "It's not over," followed by "I'm not a has-been." You;re still in the game and your future is brighter than the best story from your past.
I would like to submit three things in this installment that will guarantee you the jump start that you need.
- Conscience - "be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Stop using the impulse approach and apply a more conscientious effort. Treat every moment as though it is valued at one million dollars.
- Planning - Align your body. Prior to this you have probably made every thing, "physical" first. You cannot expect your body or it's member to perform without first engaging the mind. Rule of thumb, apply the mind then engage the body.
- Reverence - "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom..." Not an emotional fear but a humbling fear. It's no more than acknowledging that God is the creator and you are the creature. God must be preeminent in your life.
It's a shocker! I guarantee you.

Now that you have received that initial jolt you should be stepping lively!
Moses is a most intriguing bible character, more specifically let's call him, "a man on the move." His birth is rather mysterious, moreover he himself has no clue of the prophetic fire that motivates his very existence. When he becomes aware of what life is all about he has this silver spoon in his mouth. Unlike the majority of us, we'd be lucky to have a spoon at all. An extra one that's clean that is. Now imagine that one day, no day in particular, just another day, he has this spontaneous urge to defend his enemy. He reacts with an urgency but later question his actions. And the answers to the question is not occurring as speedy as his earlier actions.
There is something happening with his inner man that conflicts with his natural being. He is now conscience of a greater purpose a calling that can't be readily explained. So what does he do? He moves. The first move on the Nile was not of his own doing but with this move he creates a signature. Let's say for the sake of argument that his thoughts are, "I'm not sure where my place of destiny is, but it's definitely not where I am."
That's one third of his battle completed in a single move. Forty years in Pharaoh's house, the prince of Egypt; this was more a plot and not the plan.
Let's clear the air, you know, you should find that place where it's just you and God. Uninterrupted time, a place of meditation, a place where you have more control of your environment- A secret place. "He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."—Psalm 91:1.
Okay, I think you have an idea where this is going now, so let's move on. You have spent enough time following another's path, it's time for you to make a trail. You're to the point that you don't feel secure until you've buried your talent in someone else's dirt. I maybe swinging in the wind but I'm going to throw a few things out there for thought purposes.
You have tried to be the humble Christ like person and in the process...
- You have ended up the key person for someone else secret agenda
- You have become the victim of just another scheme
- They meant well by you... but at some point they lost site on who's you really are
- You have known for some time that it was time to move forward... but when your anointing exceeds others, they do all in their power to hold you back.
The second season of Moses life is most liberating because he experienced the God given grace of dedication and reverence.
And Moses final season was much more than a bucket list, it was God's grand finale!
So the Lord said to him, "what is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod." Exodus 4:2
Whatever your hand find to do, do it with all your might. Eccl. 9:10
And know this, "Your success is guaranteed;" God's gift and his call are irrevocable by virtue of you seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness.
Continue in Christ
